Update on Anthony Richardson's injury recovery
Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

The 2024 NFL season feels right around the corner, with the majority of the offseason over.

And while fans of the Indianapolis Colts are buzzing over their recent draft class, the status of QB Anthony Richardson remains at the forefront of most fan's minds.

ESPN's Jeremey Fowler shared an update that Colts fans will love to hear.

Per Fowler, Richardson is "progressing well" and has been "throwing for a while now." These are two big statements as the team's upcoming training camp approaches. This also lines up with what GM Chris Ballard and head coach Shane Steichen have alluded to when asked about the status of their starting quarterback.

Fowler also shared that "He's gradually grown to where he can time with minimal restrictions." If Richardson can take all of the starting reps during training camp, that would be huge for the young quarterbacks' chances of hitting the ground running for his sophomore NFL season. I'm sure he and the team are making it a priority after he lost the majority of his rookie season to injury.

He was seen throwing during phase two of the team's offseason programming. I've been told the team is ecstatic with where the QB is physically and mentally entering his second season.

All eyes turn towards training camp, where we hopefully will see Richardson a full go. And this year, there won't be any questions about who the Week 1 starter is. The focus all camp long will be getting him ready and building the offense to utilize his unique skill set.
