Chicago Bears make a major front office hire at a newly created position

Per the team's release, Crews will "work closely with President/CEO Kevin Warren and the executive leadership team to enhance the Bears' brand initiatives, streamline operations and ensure consistent messaging internally and externally."

Crews previously served as the Chiefs' executive vice president of communications and was on the staff that brought three Super Bowl titles back to Kansas City, including each of the last two titles.

"We are incredibly fortunate and blessed to have Ted join the Chicago Bears family," Warren said via the team's website. "Ted has an exemplary NFL track record and his success clearly displays his capability to lead complex communication strategies with adeptness while building a strong administrative environment. His leadership qualities, combined with a deep understanding of the broad NFL communications landscape, will be instrumental in advancing our aggressive organizational vision and objectives."

Crews is now the second Bears' executive to join the team after previously working inside the Chiefs front office. Prior to becoming the Bears general manager, Ryan Poles served as the Chiefs executive director of player personnel after working his way up the team's front office.

"Ryan is one of the finest football executives in the league," Crews said. "Him being [with the Bears] does mean a lot. I think he is doing great things here in Chicago. It never hurts to have people in the building that you know, that you care about, and that are part of the excitement. That was extremely appealing too."

Crews helped assist on the communications strategy that went into the naming rights agreement at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium with the Chiefs and he was also named to the inaugural Executive Board for the Fritz Pollard Alliance in 2021.

The amount of overwhelming support Crews has already received on social media proves that the Bears have made a strong addition to their front office. Together, he and the rest of the team's executive staff, will aim to continue steering the organization in the right path for years to come.
